Or at least high hopes for such. As I am now FINALLY in possession of my Associates of Arts Degree from Miami Dade College's School of Entertainment and Design Technology! Now, its time to look into schools for the elusive Bachelors of Fine Arts of the same major from other more lofty, prestigious (and of course, COSTLY) art schools. Chitown's on the brain, no denying that, as access to Columbia College of Chicago is a given. Then I have Savanna College of Art & Design in Savanna and Atlanta Georgia to consider as I'm told I'd be a shoe in if I applied. Last but certainly not least would be Ringling College of Art & Design in Sarasota, FL one of the highest ranked art schools in the nation in my own backyard...which is something I'm TRYING to avoid as an altar boy would a priest *brck'd*. Nothing against Ringling, awesome school (and hell-a hard to get accepted into) the idea that its so close to home (2-3 hour drive) just irks me. It'd mean regular visits almost every weekend, not to mention I'd STILL be in the middle (literally, as its in central Florida) of the Hurricane Capitol of the South East and Mosquito City, USA, as if the humidity couldn't kill you first.
I want change...
In seasons and not summer year round with the occasional one-day cold snap.
In locale as seeing the same people (yes, even in this city) is getting old...FAST
Of space and freedom
Of pace to actually follow the beat of the drum I've been hammering on for years
But most importantly of all...
I want change in living somewhere that doesn't F%*^ING require you to speak Spanish in order to get a job! I swear, 75% of jobs in South Florida will NOT consider you if you can't FLUENTLY speak SPANISH, 25% of said jobs, are Graphic Design. I've HAD it! I want to get as far away from this state as I can, and although Ringling's kick ass, its too close....WAAAAY too close to home for any kind of comfort. So, with that said, I'm going to be working on my portfolio as well as new pieces to add to it and my repertoire as well to get me the heck outa this place. Any work that hits my portfolio, will hit my dA account too, so keep your eyes peeled for new stuff every week and wish me luck as I move forward! =^-^=

So have you applied anywhere yet?
Yeah, I know EXACTLY what you mean. Sure it would be cool to be fluent in another language, but to be forced to is something that I really don't care for. I ABSOLUTELY HATE the weather here. I've been wanting to leave Miami for years now, but I will miss my friends. But after my AA degree, I have to make the change for the better. So I would be overjoyed to leave the horrible traffic jams, the ignorant people, the stupidly hot weather, the hurricane magnet that is our state, the high taxes with the poor quality of life, the idiotic people that continue to take from the education budget for things like stadiums for crappy teams who no one cares to see or for underwater tunnels that aren't needed and have been gone without for years without a problem. Gah, there are just too many things to point out, but yeah, you get the picture. I'd really like to go back to the Carolinas some day. Check their home prices. Raleigh or Charlotte would be perfect for me. And they have lots of cons.
